The ASC Edge:
The Mirror Advantage
Mirror PIRs have distinct advantages over Fresnel lens PIRs. Mirrors provide higher
optical gain than Fresnel lenses--infrared energy is collected more efficiently. With
higher optical gain, less electrical gain is required in the detector circuitry. For
Ademco Mirror PIR designs, this translates to:
A significant improvement in RFI immunity--RF
sources, such as mobile radios, can operate 29% closer without false alarms.
69% greater immunity to conducted sources of
false alarms, such as power supply ripple or power surges.
